Founded in 1871, Preston curling club are now based at The Flower Bowl, where they practice every Monday and Thursday. Consisting of members old and new, the club offers those keen curlers a chance to play regular, friendly and competitive games! Welcoming 60 new members in the last year alone, there’s no better time to sign up yourself!

Please note, attending the beginners curling coaching course is essential to reach club level. Minimum age 16. All under 18s must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 21 at all times.
1871
Founded on the 16th September 1871, Preston Curling Club would play friendly matches against nearby towns on local ponds.
1874
On Christmas Day in 1874, Preston Curling Club played their first ever competitive game, winning by 47 shots to 27.
1875
Preston Curling Club became official members of their sport, joining the Royal Caledonian Curling Club.
1910
The club received its first invitation to play at the Manchester Ice Palace, an indoor ice rink.
1965
The club began playing matches more locally at Blackpool Ice Rink and would travel up to Scotland to compete in further games.
1966
Preston played Dealbeattie in December for the first time, and this match has now continued year after year. Preston play for a Scottish Haggis whilst Dealbeattie play for Lancashire Cheese.
1980
Lockerbie Ice Rink became the official home of Preston Curling Club for the next 38 years. Club members would travel to Lockerbie on a Thursday morning to play two games before travelling back.
2018
With the opening of The Flower Bowl during the summer of 2018, Preston Curling Club was able to come back to its roots and gain a new home where it all began.
