We want to be open and accessible to all visitors to ensure that the widest number of people can enjoy our activities.

Where possible we will do our best to accommodate special needs as much as possible, so please let us know beforehand if we can help. For example, blending food, needing a quiet space or putting groups in the private bowling lanes where it is quieter. However, please note this cannot always be guaranteed, especially at busy times.

    Access

    •  We’re all on one level (apart from row B upwards at the cinema)
    •  The car park is all on one level and there are 11 disabled car parking spaces along the front of the building
    • The front rows in all 3 cinema screens are wheelchair friendly – no steps involved, seats can be removed for wheelchairs or guests can transfer to the armchair
    • Activities (VR ride excluded) are wheelchair accessible. Please note, our crazy golf course does consist of some sharp corners and uneven flooring so some larger wheelchairs may struggle to get around the whole course without some support.
    • Accessible equipment is available, e.g. a wheelchair putter, bowling ramps, curling aids
    • Both restaurants have a mix of booth style seating and chairs

    Noise

    • Low-medium level background music is played throughout the centre
    • The centre can be quite loud, especially at busy times e.g. weekends and school holidays

    Lighting

    • There are 6 large trees in the atrium that have bright colour changing lights wrapped around them

    Toilets and Changing Facilities

    • 3 disabled toilets – the main toilet is equipped with a changing bed, hoist & privacy screens
    • 2 baby change toilets
    • 1 disabled shower room

    Special Cinema Screenings

    • Subtitled screenings – once a fortnight on Tuesdays
    • Parent & Baby screenings – every first Tuesday of each month (plus school holiday specials)
    • Autism friendly screenings – please let us know if you would like us to schedule a screening. These can take place in the morning when it is quieter, the lighting will be raised and the volume reduced
    • Check our cinema page for more information: https://theflowerbowl.uk/cinema/

    Carers

    • We offer free access for carers as a reasonable adjustment where disabled people require significant support in accessing our activities. This means carers may go round the activity but would not be taking part.
    • If an essential carer wishes to partake in an activity directly, in addition to supporting guests with access requirements, we ask that they pay to play.
    • However, we appreciate that our activities are sociable so if the booking party consists only of one disabled person and one essential carer, the carer may participate free of charge. To do so, we will ask for supporting evidence on arrival such as an access card or a valid blue badge.
    • Please note that the CEA card only applies to free companion tickets in our cinema as it is a cinema industry membership scheme www.ceacard.co.uk

If you have any questions, please give us a call on 01995 676 210 or email enquiries@theflowerbowl.uk and we will be more than happy to help.
